Söndrumshallen is located in Halmstad and is run as a financial association. This hall has nurtured many young people over the years, some of whom blossomed into real stars, for example Sofia Arvidsson, who you see in one of the pictures. Sofia is perhaps best known as a tennis player but has actually won SM gold in no less than three sports; table tennis, tennis and most recently padel.
What makes Söndrumshallen so unique is that there is always speed and fan and a constant influx of practitioners from anywhere between 3-100 years old. In Söndrumshallen, people practice gymnastics and play tennis, squash, badminton and padel. Another unique feature is that no matter what sport you play, you are greeted by a pleasant sound environment when Akustikmiljö, part of Götessons Design Group, was hired to install sound absorbers in all halls. Initially, a test was done with absorbents on one of the tennis courts, which quickly became the most popular to book, not least by the tennis coaches themselves. The result turned out so well that they continued with the same concept for all courses.
It’s not just the courts that have been given a lift, they have also pimped up many other areas, for example the area around the center court in the padel hall. Here are seating furniture, poufs and plants that are 100% recycled products.
Götessons Design Group also sponsors three promising young padel players; Juni Sjöland, Smilla Ho, Ella Ho from Halmstad Padelclub as you can see in the pictures. Their home arena is precisely Söndrumshallen.
